EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) — First Deadline September 2026
If you sell LabVIEW-based software and systems in the EU, please be aware that new CRA regulations may require you to implement security vulnerability reporting starting September 11, 2026. The VIPM Team has prepared guides to help you understand how this applies to your software applications and published packages, since it's important you understand these regulatory requirements (click the Learn More link to read these guides). Thank you for your help in keeping security front-and-center within the LabVIEW community.

Description

VI Helpeks is a Free/Source-Available toolkit providing UI tools and API VIs for building professional HTML/CHM help for VIs and Function Palettes. It automatically generates documentation in the native LabVIEW Help style by collecting information directly from source VIs, while offering extensive options to customize the final output.

-- Launch VI Helpeks UI from the LabVIEW Tools menu. Example projects can be opened from the Help menu of the tool.
-- API VIs can be found in the "Addons >> VI Helpeks API" functions palette. Examples of the API VIs usage can be found in the "\Examples\VI Helpeks" folder. Alternatively, you can launch the NI Example Finder and search for "VI Helpeks".

Release Notes

3.0.0.336 (Apr 07, 2026)

VI Helpeks 3.0
-- Free for Everyone: The toolkit is now completely free to download and use. A new license agreement ensures the tool stays free for the community while granting you unrestricted rights to any documentation you create with it - including use in commercial and proprietary products.
-- Source-Available: All VIs have unlocked Block Diagrams that allow for learning, modifying, and adapting the toolkit to fit any specific workflow.
-- Dependency-Free Help: This version eliminates third-party dependencies in its output by using new native JavaScript and CSS files instead of external libraries (e.g. jQuery). This enables the creation of high-quality HTML/CHM help while strengthening the security profile for both the toolkit itself and the help files it produces. This is especially important for aligning with new security standards, such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
-- Security: To strengthen the toolkit's security profile in alignment with EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) principles, this version does not include any compiled binaries (EXE or DLL) and no longer automatically sets Windows file associations for its project files. File association can still be enabled on demand; see the "News and Changes" section in the VI Helpeks Help.
-- General: Includes various code optimizations and UI enhancements.
